How will I receive my log-in information?
Your log-in information consists of a username and a password that are provided by Helios Media sprl on purchase.

I have never used European Profile before. What do I need to consider?
You can arrange a meeting with your contact from European Agenda who will come to your office and take you through the different functions and what they can be used for.

I have forgotten my password. What do I have to do?
E-mail us at profile@europeanagenda.eu or call us at +32 (0)2 219 2990, and we will then be able to send you a new login.

How many people does the database contain?
European Profile contains more than 20,000 individuals. A team of twelve is responsible for constantly updating the contacts and expanding the database.

Which technical prerequisites are required to use the database?
The database is browser-based and platform independent and can be installed on different types of computer (PC, Apple), and/or operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOSX). To access the data, an up-to-date browser (Internet Explorer5.x, Netscape 6.x, Firefox 0,8 or similar) and Internet access is required. The European Profile database is accessed at the address www.europeanprofile.eu and the database can be accessed from any computer. On the start page you can login to the database with your personal user name and password and the search is carried out online.

I no longer wish to be informed when adding someone new to my monitoring list. How do I switch off this function?
The Menu Item Send Confirmation Mail allows you to switch the confirmation e-mail service on or off. An message is sent to your e-mail address by default on each new monitoring request but if you do not require a notification you can adjust this by clicking no.

How do I choose the format of the e-mails?
Under the menu item HTML/TEXT you can choose the format of the monitoring e-mails by clicking on HTML or TEXT.

How do I change the e-mail account that the monitoring news and amendment e-mails are sent to?
You can insert the desired e-mail address under settings in the menu.

How can I change the settings for my results list?
Under settings in the menu you can adjust the number of results shown per page and choose whether you would like photographs and/or addresses to be displayed.

How can I save a specific filter?
Run the filter and then click on the menu item save filter. Insert a name in the description field and then click on send request. The filter is now saved and can be run at any time when you click my filters from the menu.

How can I activate a saved filter?
Under My Filters in the menu, click on the desired filter and confirm with the apply button. In the list all sets of data that correspond to the criteria specified in the filter are shown.

How can I delete a filter?
Click on my filters, then on delete. A pop up window opens in which you need to confirm the erasing procedure.

Can I rename my filter at a later point?
Yes. Click on my filters, then on rename. A pop up window opens in which you need to confirm the renaming procedure and enter the new filter name. The renaming procedure is confirmed when you click on the send request button.

Can I save search results in my database?
You can save a specific result list or an individual set of data in my groups. First create the desired group by clicking my groups and then on the field Create Group. You can now enter the name of the new group in the field New Group and confirm the name by clicking the Create Button. The new group can now be selected in the field Group. You can create a maximum of 10 groups, although the number of possible groups may be extended by applying directly to European Profile.

Result lists can be saved under the menu item save all in the desired group. An individual set of data can be saved by clicking the save button.

Can I delete a group?
Yes. Under the menu item my groups, the group in question can be removed by clicking on delete.

What do I have to do to receive emails on changes regarding a specific person?
The observe function allows you to be automatically notified about all changes relating to a particular person. To use this function, display the desired set of data and click the adjoining observe button. If the set of data has a border, it is already located in the monitoring list. A cross indicates that you are not observing the data and that you may add it to the monitoring list, whereas a tick indicates that you are already observing the data. The window that opens up shows a list of all observed names in alphabetical order. The selected data set is then added to the list and you will receive an e-mail informing you that this has been done. You may switch this function off under the menu item setting.
You can also view all search results. To do this click on observe all. If you only wish to view the first page of your results list, click on this page. A new window opens up showing your current monitoring list. In addition, you will be able to see the amount of newly added sets of data. You may modify or remove entries from this list at any time. You can also export individual or all data to be observed. Notification of alternations in the observed data will be sent by e-mail on a weekly basis.

Which filter criteria can I use when searching for an individual?
The search engine allows you to make multiple choices. You may combine functions, activities, tasks, institutions, and regional filter criteria. Tasks refers to the topics covered by the particular institution, and activities to the areas of work dealt with by the specific person.

Can I search for a person by their name?
Yes. In the filter people search you can insert the name of the person your are looking for.

Can I process the data?
The export function makes it possible to export single or several selected sets of data from the database to an Excel file. The name, first name, gender, title, additional name, functions, institution, and address of the selected individuals' sets of data will be exported. To do this, select the desired set of data through the all information button. Click on the export field in the newly opened window. Confirm this action in the file-download window. To export single or several sets of data click on my groups or monitoring from the menu items.
